The Windows Phone eco-system is growing and Samsung hopes to cash in with the ATIV S - a phone modeled closely on its Android superstar, the Galaxy SIII.
The ATIV S boasts a 4.8-inch AMOLED display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB worth of internal memory (with a microSD card slot for expansion), an 8-megapixel main camera and a 1.9-megapixel front facing camera for video chats.
Reviewers were mostly positive about the ATIV S -- its large display, expandable memory and overall performance earned high marks, while the lack of 4G mobile broadband and the general lack of Windows 8 apps (from both Samsung and Microsoft) took some points off. Some reviewers also knocked the design of the ATIV S versus its major Windows Phone 8 competitors from HTC and Nokia.
