While it's primarily aimed at business users, HP's EliteBook Folio 9497 Ultrabook has plenty of features to entice consumers as well -- provided they can tolerate the $1,349 price tag.

The Windows 8 Pro machine boasts a 14-inch display (1366 x 768), 16GB of RAM, and an Intel Core i3 processor (1.8GHz) that's upgradeable to a Core i7 (3.2GHz).  You'll also find dedicated Intel HD Graphics, three USB 3.0 ports, a docking connecting, an SD card slot, an HD webcam and a glass touchpad. The standard battery delivers roughly 8.5 hours of operation. The EliteBook Folio 9497 can be configured with a solid state drive up to 256GB in capacity or a hard drive with 320GB or 500GB worth of space.

Initial reviews for HP's business-class Ultrabook were positive. While pricey, the performance and design delivered. However the FolioBook lacks a touchscreen display, so Windows 8's extensive touch options will be lacking.
