HTC's Windows Phone 8s is a lower cost Windows Phone 8 smartphone similar in many respects to the company's flagship Win phone, the 8x.
It boasts a 1GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch display, 4GB of internal memory and 512MB of RAM. It offers an SD card slot and a 5-megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video recording. There's also HTC's "Beats Audio" sound enhancemet technology.
Reviewers were mixed on the 8s. Many praised the design and the slimmed down feature set for a budget-conscious consumer, while others panned the lack of a front-facing camera for web chats and the slim amount of internal memory. Others also noted that budget-conscious smartphone shoppers may want a look at chearp Androids first (or even the iPhone 4 or 4s) for a larger library of apps.
