There's Now a Fifth (!) Screen in Your Life

That's the "other thing" that Google does. And that's why there's a scramble for the fifth screen in your life. Wearable technology is potentially with you much more of the time--your smartwatch is more on display and more accessible than your smartphone lodged in your pocket or purse, and your AR goggles may become a big part of daily life for some users. And thus advertising could become even more prevalent in our daily lives.
